Suleman, who was a traditional baker of great repute, set up Suleman Mithaiwala about 80 years ago at Minara Masjid, Mohamed Ali Road, Mumbai. This outlet was then developed further by his son, Abdul Latif who was later assisted by his three sons Suleman, Irfan and Abdulla.

With the passage of time, traditional sweets were diversified with new and innovative products developed that kept in tune with changing palettes, desires and eating habits, maintaining the highest standards of quality and hygiene keeping the health of their customers in mind.

With changing baking methods and processes, and constant upgradation of technology being used, a need was felt for reducing the heavy dependence on maida, which had once been the main source of raw material. Innovations which were never conceived before in the making of mithais', were developed and used in the various processes of this very traditional and age old food that is generally consumed at celebrations, festivals, feasts and fetes. For this reason a lot of thought and research went into making the mithais' colourful and appealing to the eyes along with palatable to the taste buds of the sweet-tooth-connoisseurs. Even ingredients underwent considerable changes with concocted honey, fruits being used along with milk, and dry-fruits. Tastes were kept in mind of clients in Europe, America, Middle East and even the Far East. This resulted in a relationship of trust and has now created a world wide demand for some of our most exotic sweets, which were relished by people of all walks of life.

Special occasions and festive sweets are our main forte. We have dozens of varieties of sweets for each occasion. Our product line also has year round delights which really do not require any celebration but merely the joy of relishing the best sweets that are available in the market.
