Years ago, in 1981, Shri. Shripal .M. Joshi and Achutrao Patvardhan, the two towering figures in Indian Socialist Movement & Freedom fighters, who are no more now, visited the project site and happen to inspire Appasaheb Sare Patil- (founder of Shrivardhan Bio-tech and a vetran politician and sitting Member of Legislature of the State) to establish a model unit at the site which is a State-of-the-Art technology and yet commercially viable, despite difficult conditions in the region. Idea was to prove to growers of the region that given the "Clarity of Vision" and "Will" to perform, Indian grower can be smartly innovative dove- tailing the technology to local ground realities. However the remark got registered deep in the mind of Appasaheb Sare Patil the founder pillar of the project and Shri + vardhan from the two legends gave birth to Shrivardhan Bio-tech Kondigre, during the year 1997-98.

It is to be noted that Appasaheb Sare Patil and his son Ganpatrao Patil, are an excellent "father- and -son" team and highly respected in the state for their contribution in "Innovative Horticulture, Co-operative Movement & Public Service". Appasaheb Sare Patil has been a founder Chairman of most successful Sugar Co-operative in the country and elected un-opposed for the last 30 years.
